It’s Street Fair Time!

39th Show Runs This Friday & Saturday…

The 39th Annual Downtowners Street Fair is almost upon us.  Over 180 vendors will pack seven city blocks of Downtown Bismarck Friday Sept 14 from 10am-8pm and Saturday Sept 15 from 9am-6pm.  Look for a vendor map in last week’s Mandan Finder, the Sept 12 Bismarck Tribune, or our website www.downtownbismarck.com.

Remember to have fun and support your community partners.  On top of Street Fair being a fundraiser for our non-profit Downtowners organization, Street Fair is also a fundraiser for over 20 local organizations.  You help raise funds for churches, PTOs, Boy Scout Troops, Service Clubs, area non-profits, and other organizations by supporting the show.

Here is some last minute information regarding the Street Fair:

The Streets will be closed Thursday at 5pm for Street Fair setup.  This includes Broadway Ave from 3rd Street to 6th Street, 4th Street from Thayer Ave to Main Ave, and 5th Street fromThayer Ave to Main Ave.   “No Parking” signs were hung in the effected areas on Monday.  Any cars remaining on these streets after 5pm will be towed.  Please remind your staff and customers of the change.

Public parking is available in the three city owned ramps.  The 3rd & Main Street Ramp as well as and The Parkade and Galleria Ramps located near the Radisson.  The rate is $1/hour and it caps at $6/day.  These ramps have handicapped parking and elevators as well.  Visit www.bismarckparkingauthority.com for more information on using the ramps.

Downtown Updates

— The Bismarck City Commission recently approved the Downtown Vendor Policy using the sidewalks.  The Downtowners Association worked with the city to help craft the adopted policy.  With the recent interest in food trucks in the Downtown, the policy will outline the steps and regulations for potential vendors wanting to use the Downtown area.  A copy of the policy is available through the City ofBismarckor the Downtowners Association.

Downtown Clean Up- Let’s Make a Great Impression At Street Fair

As Street Fair is almost here, we have a chance to make a great impression to upwards of 45,000 people visiting our Downtown.  A few members have asked if we’d pass along this reminder.  Make sure your property and store front look its best!  Please pick up any trash or weeds that surround your property or business.  Remember that the property line goes all the way to the curb so it would be much appreciated if everyone’s sidewalks and buildings looked great for those visiting our beautiful city center.  Cleaning up and weeding tree grates, parking lots and plantings, sweeping, and sprucing up even the alleyways as they are very well traveled during the show goes a long way.

If you don’t have anyone physically able to do some of this work, please call our office and we will try and assist you.

Thank you so much!
