“Prince Hotel” Rehabilitation

Former Prince Hotel has a new owner and new plans.
Applicant, Transitions Florida, LLC (Rolf Eggers) is requesting approval of a Rehabilitation Renaissance Zone project for the 114 North 3rd Street building. Transitions Florida, LLC is proposing a $780,000 investment.  Some of the proposed plans include: installation of new storefronts and windows on ground floor for commercial occupancy, electrical and heating system replacement throughout the entire building, and repairs to the elevators to insure safety.
The 71 apartments, would remain the same with cosmetic improvements. 

The Prince Hotel, formerly named the Van Horn Hotel, was a hotel constructed in 1916 with an addition added to the north in 1917. The building also housed the famous, Blue Blazor Lounge. 


BND Business Recovery Program 
Applications are open now until October 30 for the COVID-19 Pace Recovery II Program. This program is based on a ranking application and is not first come first serve.
“The COVID-19 PACE Recovery II (CPR II) Program assists North Dakota businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program will provide a buydown on interest expense accrued (in the form of a grant) on eligible existing debt from April 1, 2020 through September 30, 2020.” Click below for the FAQ, restrictions and eligibility. Main Street Awards 
Congrats to Makewell for receiving the 21st Century Workforce Award at the Main Street Summit 2020 for their “Makewell Skills Camp and Workshop Marathon”. The 21st Century Workforce Award recognizes excellence in attracting and retaining workforce and work with local youth to promote workforce opportunity. 
“Makewell is a growing community for Midwest makers. We provide opportunities to connect and educate makers so they can build confidence in their craft and community.”

National Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Now through the end of October, Unbranded Element will be taking donations for the Abused Adult Resource Center. Social Distance Food Drive
PLC Coffee is in need of some more nutritious non-perishable goods for our community members to make healthy meals and snacks with. Bismarck-Mandan Young Professionals are hosting another food drive, social-distance style! From October 5th through the 9th, drop off your donations at the Bismarck-Mandan Chamber EDC (1640 Burnt Boat Dr.) from 8:30am-5pm each day.
