Lost Mansions of Bismarck

The Bismarck Historical Society will be hosting a free historical program on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 6:30 PM at Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library.

The topic of this presentation is “Lost Mansions of Bismarck.” Local architectural historian Emily Sakariassen will provide a then-and-now look at the Bismarck Commercial Club’s 1923 photo book. For decades, the precursor to today’s Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC produced promotional booklets highlighting Bismarck’s most attractive assets to entice visitors and potential new residents. One hundred years later, many of these places continue to be recognizable, while others have been lost to the annals of time.
