Exploring Incremental Development
Incremental Development Clinic — Bismarck Oct 16
The Downtowners, along with partners Lewis & Clark Development Group and Civitecture Studios, are hosting Jim Kumon of the Incremental Development Alliance for a Bismarck Clinic. Staff and partners have been working throughout August and September to bring Jim here before his scheduled keynote at the ND Downtown Conference in Fargo ND.
A stakeholders luncheon with afternoon sessions– as well as a free public lecture will take place Monday, October 16. Jim will work with local stakeholders who are interested in pursuing an incremental, neighborhood-oriented approach to infill and redevelopment and aim to build local momentum and institutional infrastructure around this approach.
What is incremental development?
Incremental development is a bottom-up, grassroots approach to development. It is a process that helps unlock the potential of locally sourced ideas, driven by locally sourced capital, to transform neighborhoods for the better.
