Joint Agreement Approved

In a 4-1 vote in favor, the Bismarck City Commission approved a joint development agreement with the developers of “Five South”, a large mixed-used project along 5th Street between the Kirkwood Mall and Front Ave.  After a lengthy public hearing and discussion from the commission, the agreement was approved to amend Bismarck’s Urban Growth Plan and agree to designated public improvements should the developers meet certain benchmarks or triggers.  Five South is spearheaded by Bismarck Futures, a group of investors and area businesses working to bring a large scaled mixed-used project to an underdeveloped area in the city center.  Improvements and additions include, parking structures, housing, hotel, and commercial space.  For more information visitwww.bismarcknd.gov or www.fivesouthbismarck.com.
