November 7 Downtown Bismarck News

New Businesses Open!

Downtown Bismarck has had multiple new businesses open in recent weeks, all unique and valuable to our Downtown Bismarck community.

Gideon’s Brewing Company
Gideon’s Brewing Company was established by Dave Duma, a Bismarck local and retired helicopter pilot for the Marine Corps., in 2018. His experience with home brewing gave him a drive to experiment and experience usage of hops, yeast, and malts to create so many unique flavors. Gideon’s is a great place to enjoy games and have conversations with old friends or make some new ones. 107 N 5th St.

Renaissance Zone Discussion

The Downtowners Board of Directors formally voted to support single-family housing applications for Bismarck’s Renaissance Zone Program. Only 3 applications for rehabilitations of single-family homes have been filed in Bismarck over the course of the program. Applicants must use the home as their primary residence, meet certain investment thresholds, and only specific improvements to the property are allow to count toward that investment threshold. We’ll continue to advocate for keeping this project-type accessible for those looking to invest in the program, highlighting the need for housing in and near central Bismarck. The next regularly scheduled RZ meeting will be Thursday November 14.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You
