National Small Business Week was first celebrated in 1963, 60 years ago. National Small Business Week recognizes the contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners. Small businesses have a larger impact on America’s economy than most people realize. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and small businesses create about two-thirds of new jobs in the U.S. each year. This is why it is crucial to support small businesses and shop local. Besides, what more fun way is there to support your community than shopping retail or eating out at restaurants? National Small Business Week runs from April 30- May 6 this year, so get out and support local small businesses, whether that be restaurants, boutiques, salons, art galleries, or something else.
To celebrate National Small Business Week in Bismarck, several small businesses in the downtown area are hosting a Bingo promotion. Collect a Bingo card at any of the participating businesses. This card will give you an exclusive one-time offer at each business. You can also play for a chance at a grand prize. Check in at the participating businesses to get their box marked on your card. Get a regular bingo, four corners, or four in a corner for a chance to win a grand prize from each participating business. Your bingo card must be handed in to one of the participating businesses by May 6th.
