Appleseed Award

May 3rd was Arbor Day, one of the Downtowners’ favorite days of the year! CEO Dawn Kopp was the emcee for the day, telling some groan-worthy puns and sharing her love of trees. The Downtowners received another Appleseed award for our pollinator plant bed project in Downtown Bismarck. Congratulations to the other award winners, including Dan Cashman!

Burger Slam Champion!

The totals are in and JL Beers is the first ever champion of the Downtown Burger Slam. Congrats to JL Beers!

JOMO House

The first Renaissance Zone project has been approved since its renewal. The building on 515 E Main Ave will undergo interior renovations and will open as JOMO House, a Vietnamese restaurant serving coffee, tea, and some food.

Parking Ramp How-To

Something we here all the time from people who come Downtown is that they don’t know how to use the ramps, so they prefer to park on the street and walk. The Downtown Parking Authority put together this video to help first-time ramp users get comfortable with the process. Feel free to share this link wherever you think it would be helpful!

Little Kids, Big World: Flowerpots

Listen to a story about flowers, and decorate your own flowerpot to take home.

Toddlers and preschoolers are invited to the free interactive learning series “Little Kids, Big World” at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. These interactive 30-minute programs introduce children to North Dakota’s fascinating history. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and are asked to meet at the west entrance information desk.

The event will be Saturday, May 18th at 10 and 11 am.
