Summer in ND also equals
construction season.
Downtown Concrete Project:
Construction is underway along Main Avenue from Washington Street to 7th Street, which means traffic is down to two lanes and parking on Main isn’t available right now.
But our downtown businesses are still open and would love to see you! With help from the Bismarck Parking Authority, we’re making it easier to stop by: enjoy 2 hours of FREE parking at both the Third Street Parking Ramp and the Parkcade while you shop or dine. There’s also plenty of parking on the side streets.
Thank you for continuing to support the heart of our community during construction—work is expected to wrap up in late August!
Thank you to Petro Hunt (Jeff and the crew) for continuing their support of the downtown pollinator beds! They also helped plant and fill beds to kick off Pollinator Week! Big thank you to our planting volunteers from Capital Credit Union, FALF, BNC National Bank, Paul Noot aka the Paul-inator (BDAC), Tanya Jo Smith, Forestry, our DTers staff and board! Happy National Pollinator Week!
The Downtown Beds have truly never looked this full and beautiful! We are so grateful to all partners in making this transformation utilizing existing infrastructure to realize these established native pollinator habitats. But don’t take our word for it… check it out for yourself!

Community members of all ages are invited to participate in the creation of a floral sidewalk chalk pathway connecting BAGA and BDAC as part of Art in Bloom. Create your artwork anytime between July 5–7 using nature-inspired imagery to help guide visitors between the two galleries for the Art in Bloom exhibit Opening Reception on July 8.
There are 25 chalk art spaces available, which will be assigned prior to the event. The first 25 participants to register will receive a professional set of sidewalk chalk at no cost, courtesy of a grant from the Dakota West Arts Council.
Interested in participating? Contact BAGA at 701-223-5986 or email cherise@bismarck-art.org to sign up. Be sure to reach out early so you can pick up your chalk and receive your assigned location before the weekend.
Whether you’re an experienced artist or simply enjoy being creative, we invite you to help transform downtown sidewalks into a colorful celebration of art and nature!
