Missouri River Flooding

Resources and Information

With the rising flood waters in the area, the needs of the community also rise.  The Downtowners again encourage our members and others in the business community to be flexible with employee schedules and volunteer to help with the flood efforts. Before the Garrison Dam was built, Missouri River flood waters would often reach Front Ave in the Downtown area.  Below are some important links and information.

The Bismarck Mandan Chamber of Commerce has information on their site if you’re: looking for storage, have storage available, looking for housing, have housing available.  Go to www.bismarckmandan.com if you fit any of these needs.

The Red Cross, Salvation Army, and United Way are helping coordinate volunteer and emergency efforts.  Please contact any of these organizations, they have opportunities for everyone.

Downtowners’ Ribfest June 16-18

The Downtowners Rip Roarin’ Ribfest Fundraiser is still scheduled for June 16-18 at the Bismarck Civic Center Lot D.  The Downtowners Ribfest Road Races will still be held June 11, the new location is the Bismarck Capitol Grounds. The Downtowners have offered space to the Red Cross, United Way, and Salvation Army at the show.  These organizations will be at Ribfest handing out information and letting attendees know what their needs will be in the future through the flood fight.  We will also be offering free attendance to National Guard members, you must show current military identification. Lunch hours on Thursday and Friday will also be free admission from 11am-1pm.  Children 12 and under are also free.
