Bismarck Moves NDDOT Demonstration Project

Bismarck City Commissioners approved plans for Bismarck’s NDDOT Active Transportation Demonstration Project which will include enhanced safety features at the intersection of 5th and Main Ave.  The month long demonstration project will feature high visibility crosswalks and pedestrian “bulb-outs” at each corner.  City and NDDOT staff will be monitoring the project for effectiveness and make modifications if needed.  NDDOT consultants will also provide an after-study on the project for the city. Expect installation Monday and Tuesday July 9-10, take care at the intersection while the project is being installed.  To see more about NDDOT’s Active Transportation projects or learn more about other ND communities projects click below.

On August 15, more than 1,200 volunteers will spend the day fixing, cleaning, organizing, creating, building, and offering a helping hand to over 50 local nonprofits and community-members in need. Volunteers work in collaboration with United Way partner agencies, other social service organizations, civic agencies, private nonprofit agencies, and neighbors in need throughout the Bismarck-Mandan community. Participating organizations are matched with volunteers who choose to donate their time and talents to address our community’s needs.
