“At 8 a.m. Thursday, BNSF Railway will begin electrical work at the 12th Street railroad crossing as part of Bismarck’s $2.8 million quiet rail project.  The quiet rail program allows trains to pass through the 12th, Fifth and Third street rail crossings without shrilling the train horn at 110 decibels. Special infrastructure protection to prevent motorists and pedestrians from crossing the tracks when the train is crossing and rail arms will be installed in the project. Sidewalk closure is possible during the work period.” -Bismarck Tribune.
