Your Regular Dose of Art…

Downtown Bismarck’s talented art scene has expanded in the past few years, offering more opportunities for the community to interact with artists and their work.  Long time galleries BAGA, Impact Gallery and Gallery 522 have anchored the Downtown art community for years.  Downtown revitalization saw the addition of the Downtown Bismarck Artist Co-op (BDAC) in 2011 setting up shop in the Historic Tribune Building on 4th Street.  The cooperative is member owned and operated by 14 full gallery members and 65 supporting members.  New to Downtown is Art Gallerie on Main featuring 4 area artists at 402 E Main Ave.
Gallery crawl: The 1st Friday of each month, many of the galleries host artist receptions in the evening.  Meet featured artists and get your daily dose of area art culture, not to mention wine and hors d’oeuvres.
Classes:   Inquire about classes for children and adults and hone your artistic talents. Classes are also a great group activity with friends!  Check out Hot 97.5’s Weekly Painting Party for a fun wine and art night out.
Performance Art:  Downtown is also becoming the hub of performance art in Bismarck.  With organizations like North Plains Dance, The Bismarck Mandan Symphony Orchestra, and Dakota Stage performing regularly at the Belle Mehus Auditorium and Dakota Stage Theater.
Support these local artists, get involved, buy tickets, and tell your friends about the cultural and entertainment events Downtown Bismarck has to offer.  The best way to grow our entertainment options for the future is to patronize the organizations brightening our community today.

Repairs have been mostly completed to damage on the skywalk attaching the Parkade Ramp to the Radisson Hotel.  The Parking Authority Board is also offering event parking in the new 6th Street Ramp in conjunction with major events at the Belle Mehus Auditorium.  The rates are the same as the existing ramps Downtown.  Use the Parkade or Galleria Ramp for other event parking near the Belle and World War Memorial Building area.
