Member Bismarck Downtown Artist Cooperative (BDAC) is having an opening reception for their upcoming exhibition this Friday, January 8 at the gallery. The exhibit, Out With the Old, In With the New, will feature old work on sale not previously exhibited at BDAC. This exhibit will be a full member exhibit. Member Art Gallerie on Main will be hosting Healing Arts Workshops for cancer patients, survivors and caretakers starting the month of January. Healing Arts Workshops will begin offering two options per month, on the first Thursday and first Saturday a workshop will be offered, the same class two options, every month a different workshop. Member Dakota Stage Ltd. is busy starting the New Year. Dakota Stage Ltd. will need a helping hand to put together their next show, Twilight of the Golds. Dakota Stage Ltd. staff, directors and volunteers will be holding a work day, Jan 9 from 10am-3pm, to put the pieces together for their next show. They would very much appreciate your assistance in making it all happen. Wear clothes that can get dirty, bring tools of your personal trade and join Dakota Stage Ltd. for a day of community theater creative fun. Next to Normal is a wonderful, award winning new musical about a wife and mother struggling with depression as she cares for her family. Member Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra is pleased to announce the first concert of 2016 and the next performance in the BMSO’s 40th anniversary season, “Light a Fire.” The first 2016 concert will be Saturday, January 16, with “Murder, Mystery, and Fire,” with thrilling favorites from Hitchcock’s famous films, James Bond themes, and selections from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, Sherlock Holmes: Catatonic, Jurassic Park, Pink Panther and Rockin’ Halloween.
