February 22nd Downtown Bismarck News

NRI Approval

Bismarck City Commission unanimously voted last Tuesday to approve the Neighborhood Reinvestment Initiative brought forward by Community Development in partnership with our Downtown Bismarck Association. The program offers $2 Million in loans at a lower interest rate. The program is intended to assist homeowners in older, lower value homes complete larger renovations that increase the value of their home and their neighborhood. Applications for the 2024 building season will be available from March 18 through the end of October.

3rd and Thayer Traffic Pattern Test

As you may have seen, the signal light at 3rd and Thayer was removed temporarily as requested by NDDOT before they begin construction in the area under through a federal aid project. The signal will remain out of operation for a “test” period to see if the light is needed or not.

Please let us know if you notice anything (good or bad) without the signal light in operation.  We can take that information to the city and NDDOT to see what the need is at that intersection for the business and property owners nearby.

You can also submit your own individual comments on the removal of the signal at 3rd and Thayer: Form Center • Contact Us (bismarcknd.gov)
