Start Bismarck is looking for volunteers to get involved with 1 Million Cups and other Start Up events. Start Bismarck is a non-profit organization that supports the startup community in Bismarck by promoting startup functions, organizing key events like Start Up Weekend and embracing creativity. Every Wednesday, volunteers for Start Bismarck organize 1 Million Cups at Dakota Stage Theater in Downtown Bismarck.
1 Million Cups is a free event that brings people together in local communities to support entrepreneurs and their businesses every Wednesday morning, plus free coffee!

Member Bismarck Arts & Galleries Association and Bismarck Downtown Artist Cooperative have opening receptions on Feb 3. BAGA’s exhibit reception is 5-7pm, featuring Nicole Gagner and Scott Seiler. Both are also Supporting Member Artists at BDAC. Nicole Gagner will have a member artist exhibit and Scott Seiler will have his photography in the main BAGA gallery.
BDAC will open 5:30-8:30pm featuring art by full and supporting members, the theme is Diptych/Triptych. For more information please visit: Gallery Openings
Member Northern Plains Dance will host Dance+, a powerhouse program, exploring the bold and physicality and imagination of ballet. Dance+ will be held at the Belle Mehus Auditorium on Feb 24-25. Northern Plains Dance welcomes children and families to experience this event, but recommends that children be at least 3 years of age to attend performances. Impact Foundation’s Giving Hearts Day will be Thursday, Feb 9. Giving Hearts Day is a one day fundraising event for non-profit organizations throughout the region. Several members in the Downtown Association will be participating in Giving Hearts Day including: Abused Adult Resource Center, Bismarck Cancer Center Foundation, Heartview Foundation, Northern Plains Dance, Youthworks and Missouri Valley Family YMCA. Giving Hearts Day was started in 2008 by Dakota Medical Foundation and Impact Foundation as the region’s first one-day virtual fundraising event. The City of Bismarck is seeking input for the City of Bismarck’s Infill & Redevelopment Plan. The plan addresses vacant or underutilized land in Bismarck and replaces or reuses that land and structures to accommodate new and appropriate development. This plan offers a template for creating connected and vibrant neighborhoods in the City of Bismarck. Commissioners will take official action again on the plan and whether to accept it at their second February meeting. To give input, click here.
