Starving Rooster Spotted!

A new family-friendly restaurant will open soon in Downtown Bismarck. Starving Rooster, a multi-cuisine restaurant that takes pride in quality ingredients and respects farming culture plans on opening March 3, 2017 according to their Facebook page.  The Starving Rooster opened their first location in Minot in an originally built 1919 Altman and Taylor Tractor Company building. Altman and Taylor used the ‘starving rooster’ logo as their brand name, with the name continuing on today for the restaurants.  Starving Rooster will be located right beside Terra Nomad at 512 East Main Ave.  They are currently taking applications for full-time and part-time shifts. Member Bismarck-Mandan Symphony Orchestra presents the annual Dixieland Jazz concert on Friday, February 17 at Sixteen03 Main Events. The Dixieland Bad is led by BMSO trumpeter and UMary Director of Bands, Dennis Gowen. The mix of food, jazz and a festive ambiance promises to make the evening a hit for anyone. Member Bismarck State College will be hosting the BSC Spring 2017 Job and Internship Fair on Thursday, February 23 from 4pm-6:30pm at the Bismarck State College National Energy Center of Excellence. The cost to reserve a booth is $150 and includes one 6ft table and two chairs as well as an evening meal. BSC is still accepting Employer registrations. Member Seeds of Hope Thrift Store and Gift Store (AARC) Easter store is opening Monday, February 20. Located in the lower level of the store, the Easter store has hundreds of Easter baskets, bunnies and décor items. Easter items and other donations are accepted Monday through Saturdays (except Wednesdays) during normal store hours. Proceeds from Seeds of Hope benefit victims of abuse served by the Adult Resource Center (AARC). Seeds of Hope is located 520 E. Main.


Downtown News

MetroPlains Management, LLC has started leasing apartments at the new complex located at 100 W Main Ave. The apartment is a 30-unit complex for those 55 years of age and older with affordable rates. The complex includes apartments on the upper levels with public spaces for residents, fitness center, individual leases and controlled access.
This is one of the first in a series of housing projects slated for Downtown Bismarck from a number of different developers.
