1st Main Street Summit Wraps Up!
Nearly 700 gathered for the Governor’s two-day interactive Main Street ND Summit at the Bismarck Event Center on Feb 12 -13. The Main Street Summit brought in local and national community leaders, developers, advocates and others to share best practices and engage community leaders, entrepreneurs and students in envisioning the future of North Dakota.
Governor Doug Burgum announced twenty-nine communities thus far have joined the Main Street Initiative and expects that number to keep growing. The Main Street Initiative gives community leaders a direct access point to a variety of resources helping capitalize on strengths and make sound planning decisions.
Some keynote speakers, and strong Main Street advocates included: Bob Gibbs (Gibbs Planing Group), Roger Brooks (Roger Brooks International) and Charles Marohn (Founder/President of Strong Towns).
