Downtown Awards

Each year at the Downtowners Association Annual Meeting and Awards two recognitions are given, the June & Jim Thompson Downtown Leadership Award and the Downtown Volunteer of the Year Award.

June and Jim Thompson were the owners of Sioux’s Sporting Goods in Downtown Bismarck.  They were instrumental in forming the Downtowners Association in the 1970s, the Street Fair, and a number of other community initiatives.  The nominees should represent this kind of Downtown leadership shown by The Thompsons.  To learn more about June & Jim Thompson’s leadership, click on the video link below.

The Downtown Volunteer of the Year award is presented to a member that has volunteered time and treasure to move our Historic City Center and Association forward.
