City Begins NDDOT Urban Grant Applications
From City Engineering to the City Commission: “The Urban Grant program focuses on the inner core of communities with greater than 5000 population. The focus of this program is reinvesting and fortifying a community’s existing transportation assets which maximizes the public return on investment. The program focuses transportation investments inward toward the established community rather than outward expansion. There is $4.6-$7.6 million annually available statewide for this competitive grant program. The NDDOT is soliciting for 2021 projects at this time. The project that I would recommend pursuing is the concrete pavement rehabilitation of downtown streets. The project limits would be 3rd Street on the west, Main Avenue on the south, 6th Street on the east and Rosser Avenue on the north. The pavement rehabilitation project would consist of street improvements including concrete pavement repairs, curb and gutter repairs, sidewalk repairs, inlaying plastic pavement marking, roadway and pedestrian lighting and signage. I would recommend the project be submitted in two phases with the Broadway Avenue, 4th Street and 5th Street phase of the project requested for 2021 and the 6th Street and Thayer Avenue phase of the project requested at the solicitation for 2022 projects that would occur next year at this time.” – Gabe Schell

According to the building permit filed by the city, the value of the building is worth an estimated $12.6 million.  A great investment into the city center!
