Better Bismarck is a new program started in conjunction with  the Downtowners, Bismarck Police Department, Bismarck Burleigh Public Health & City of Bismarck, and private property owners to help people in crisis.  Instead of giving cash directly to those on the streets, consider texting BetterBismarck and making a donation that goes to addressing root causes.

“People experiencing chronic homelessness typically have complex and long-term health conditions such as mental illness and/or substance use disorders. Housing insecure individuals in crisis with chronic and severe behavioral health and/or addiction issues, who are not stable or ready for change, but are just trying to survive day to day have limited resources available to them. Those in crisis impact law enforcement, emergency rooms/hospitals, and local businesses.”
