Holiday Events Downtown!

The couple weeks before the Christmas Holiday are packed with fun events in Downtown Bismarck.  Our historic Belle Mehus theater has a number of events– including a perennial favorite– The Nutcrackerpresented by Northern Plains Dance.  BAGA’s Cookie Walk event and fundraiser is also a yearly hit– get there early to get your holiday cookies with proceeds going to their association.  Many of the Downtown retailers have teamed up to have their holiday open houses on Dec 9 & 10 for their Oh Local Nights event!  Shop local for the holidays, meet the shop owners, and spread some holiday cheer!  New gallery exhibits at the Bismarck Downtown Artist Co-op and Art Gallerie on Main are set with opening receptions Friday Dec. 9.  Take in all Downtown Bismarck has to offer this holiday season and support local businesses making an impact in the community!  #Shoplocal #ShopSmall

Member Caffe Aroma has recently moved locations in Downtown Bismarck! The new location will be located on the corner of 4th and Broadway, in the former Impact Art Gallery space. Caffe Aroma has also partnered with Sweet Treats Cupcake Bar, carrying their desserts and treats. Member Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library will be having a Grand Opening of the new Teen Center on Friday, December 9 at 6:30pm. Visit the newly constructed area in the library made especially for teens- a place where they can read, study, socialize and create. Light refreshments will be served. Holiday Window Decorating Contest
Friendly reminder that the deadline for the Member Holiday Window Decorating contest is no later than December 16, 2016. To participate, simply submit a good quality photo (JPEG) of your retail or main office window decorated for the holiday season. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place along with the Critic’s Choice Award! There is no theme this year other than jovial, exciting & engaging designs. Downtown News

Recent back to back storm events have city crews working hard to keep the roads cleared.  Visit www.bismarcknd.gov for the latest up to date info on street/snow clearing operations.  The city will also post updates on Downtown snow removal operations (removing the sidewalk snow ridges).  Property owners should have sidewalks and intersection cuts cleared (for corner lots), and icy areas salted or cleared 24 hours after snow falls by ordinance.
