August 24th Downtown Bismarck News

Missouri River Heritage Mural

August 15th was the unveiling of this beautiful community mural! Thank you to everyone who collaborated on the Missouri River Heritage Mural including GoodSpace Murals, Dakota West Arts Council, Northern Plains Heritage Foundation, Bismarck-Burleigh Public Health, Juniper LLC, Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library, Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation, Consensus Council, Capital City Christmas, and Sons of Norway Sverdrup Lodge! The Downtown Business Association of Bismarck was thrilled to join in this collaboration by hosting painting parties funded in large part through a Capital City Christmas grant.

The mural is even more beautiful and impressive in person, so be sure to check out the mural in person underneath the Grant Marsh Bridge!

Street Fair: Less Than a Month Away!

Street Fair Updates:

In honor of the Street Fair’s 50th anniversary, the Downtowners are bringing back the classic car show that used to be a staple of the Fair. The car show will be located on the corner of 5th and Broadway and will be free entry. If you or anyone you know is interested in being a part of the show, email barry.schumaier@kfyrtv.com

We are doing a 50/50 raffle this year as another fun way to celebrate the 50th anniversary! We will sell tickets for the raffle. 50% of the amount sold will be awarded to a person with the winning ticket number and the other 50% will go to the Downtown Bismarck Community Foundation. Depending on the amount of tickets sold, we will be awarding either one winner total or one winner for each day, Friday and Saturday. A prize winner cannot collect more than $8,000 in winnings.

Art and Craft vendor applications are still being accepted. Food vendor applications are not. Vendor lists will be shared soon.
