Downtown News

The new Downtown Master Plan Implementation Committee has completed a small but visible project. The team’s recommendation for branding Bismarck has started with new City of Bismarck banners placed throughout the Downtown area.  These banners will be installed when the winter decorations are no longer in season.  Banner designer Kelsey Rhuland, a Downtown business owner (Crabapple Floral) and trained landscape architect, created the final design for the city banners.  The design follows themes already present in Downtown Bismarck like wheat grass and art deco themes.  The Implemenation Team is also working on suggested Master Plan project recommendations to the City of Bismarck, specifically design guidelines and street change configurations.  Main Ave “road diet” pilot project has made it into the 2015 budget, provided the budget is approved as presented at the City’s preliminary budget meeting.
